Spreading the Gospel

 

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned’” (Mk 16:15-16).

 

Since Jesus spoke these words and ascended to heaven, the great commission He left us has gone into the corners of this world, and we are blessed to be a part of that plan. Though simple the instruction, how we go about carrying out this work of spreading the gospel requires much effort.

 

But the Lord Jesus did not leave us to work alone. He gives us His teachings as our guideline, so that we can examine our efforts to see if they are centered on Him. He sends us the power of His spirit to open the ears of the people and to move the hearts of men. And He tells us He is with us—that He is only a prayer away.
