How did Jesus" death impact Satan's work?

God said to the serpent, who represents Satan, “He [Eve’s seed] shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel” (Gen 3:15). This was one of the earliest predictions of Jesus as the Savior of the world. On the surface, Jesus lost the battle and darkness reigned (Lk 22:53). However, Jesus’ death was a fatal blow to Satan, that “through death he might destroy him who has the power of death, that is, the devil, and release all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong bondage” (Heb 2:14-15). Jesus’ death signifies obedience to God, redemption for humanity, and victory over Satan/Devil.
