The Basic Requirement of Servitude – Offering

The Basic Requirement of Servitude – Offering

I.       Preface:

The true servitude consists of three factors:

1.       Duty of Servitude:  In Greek, servitude and worship always use the same word.  Therefore, our daily offering of prayer, thanksgiving, praise, and worship are all duty of servitude. (Acts 13:1~2).

2.       Life of Servitude:  Our life, moral, and all the behaviors are all testimonies for God, are also servitude. (Acts 1:8).

3.       Work of Servitude:  We use the gift to serve God.  Everyone who serves God whole heartedly in his/her own position accomplish the work that God has entrusted.

II.    Content:

Everyone who wants to serve the Lord must first offer sacrifice of him or her self to the Lord.  It is to offer first then to serve. (Roman 12:1)

A.     The Meaning of Offering:  If a Christian understands the meaning of offering, then their offering will become much more truly and complete.

1.         Offering is giving your heart to the Lord.  (Prov. 23:26)

2.         Offering is giving your life authority to the Lord. (Acts 22:10)

3.         Offering is becoming the vassal of Lord. (Rom 6:13)

4.         Offering is living for the Lord. (2 Cor 5: 14~15)

5.         Offering is to put Christ in the center of life. (Phi. 1:21, Co 1:18)

B.     The Foundation of the offering:  If a Christian does not offer throughout his or her life, then his or her whole spirituality has no foundation.

1.        Offering is the foundation of the walk in the path of the Lord. (Pro )

2.        Offering is the foundation of the obedience. (Rom 6:16)

3.        Offering is the foundation of the victory. (Jud 16:17, Phi 4:13)

4.        Offering is the foundation of the spiritual growth and renewal. (Rom 12:2)

5.        Offering is the foundation of the material offering. (2 Cor 8: 2, 5)

6.        Offering is the foundation of the abundant life. (Ek 47:1~2)

7.        Offering is the foundation of the servitude. (Rom 12:1)

C.     Blind Spot of Offering:

1.        Apparent --- Lost the true meaning. (Mt. 6:1)

2.        Softness --- Lost power. (Mt. 26:41)

3.        Doctrine --- Lost the vivacious life. (Mt. 16:6)

4.        Materialize --- Lost spiritual power. (Mt. 16:6)

5.        Harden --- Lost love. (Luk 17:3~4)

6.        Passive --- Lost Active. (Mk 4:24)
