A Life of Nobility

I.       What is nobility?

Nobility defined from spiritual perspective

A.     God created man with his own image (Gen. 1:27, James 3:9)

1.        With divine nature

2.        With glory (1 Cor. 11:7)

3.        With blessing

4.        Man reflect the image of God

B.     God saw everything made was good (Gen.1:31)

C.     God blessed them (Gen. 1:21)

1.        Physically

·         Provide physical need

·         Protected physically (Gen. 9:6)

2.        Spiritually and mentally

D.     Man reflect the nobility of God

II.    Why do human lost nobility?

Current situation of human’s life

A.     Man has sinned - come short the glory of God

B.     Man has been cursed - the consequence of sin

1.        To self

2.        To other

3.        To God

C.     Man  has been dominated by lust of corruption

D.     Man has been destined to die

E.     A life of suffering and vanity

III. How to regain nobility?

Goal of life:

A.     Be a partaker of divine nature (2 Pet.1:4)

B.     Clothes self with new self-created according to the likeness of God (Eph. 4:24)

1.        In righteousness

2.        Holiness of truth

C.     Put on the new self

Being renewed according to the knowledge of his creator (Col. 3:10)

D.     Jesus is the role model

1.        A life of nobility

2.        In him we shall be made complete (Col. 2:10)

IV.  Exemplary life of nobility

A.     Paul

B.     Daniel

C.     Jesus

V.     Conclusion: Jesus is the way to nobility of life (Jn. 14:6)

A.     He remove our sin: by our faith through baptism (Titus 3:5)

B.     He renew us: in him, we are new creation (2 Cor. 5:17)

C.     He give us life abundantly (Jn. 10:10)
