A New Lease of Life
Hallelujah, in the name of Jesus
Christ I testify.
One evening in July 1984, again
intoxicated with alcohol, I had one of my regular outbursts which nearly broke
up my family. But this particular
incident was significant. It marked my
turning point. For the first time I felt
deeply ashamed of myself. My hitherto
futile lifestyle flashed through my mind.
Is it still possible, I wondered, for me to have a clean start, putting
drinking and gambling to the past?
Through God's arrangement, LondonChurch
held a Spiritual Convocation in August that year. I attended the services. The words of God in whom my family trusts and
His Holy Spirit moved me to accept the Lord Jesus as the Savior: I was baptized
into His name on 18 August 1984.
Christ's blood had redeemed me from my sinful past. He had helped me to become a new person with
a fresh outlook of life.
In early 1985, while attending a
service, I saw God's glory shining on the speaker and interpreters at the
pulpit. In awe, I witnessed this vision
for more than 10 minutes. Soon after
this episode, the gracious Lord bestowed His Holy Spirit upon me. Hallelujah! Having lived for 57 years, I have
finally found the warmth and fullness of life in Christ Jesus. May all glory be to His name. Amen.
"Even though I walk through the valley of
the shadow
of death, I fear no evil, for thou art with
me".(Ps 23:4)
