Word Study

The word “Bible” comes from the Greek words ta biblia, which mean “the books.” However, reading the Bible is not like reading any other collection of 66 books. The name “Bible” is used to imply that it is the collection of books, the books we really should read, because they are the right books.

Did You Know?

There are five chapters in the Book of Lamentations, and the first four chapters are acrostic. This means each verse or set of verses begins with subsequent letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The Hebrew alphabet has twenty-two letters so the chapters begin with the first letter, Aleph (א), and ends in the last letter, Tav (ת).
