Moral Standard
"Thy word is a lamp to my
feet and a light to my path" (Psalms 119:105). In this world full of
choices, it is always difficult to know what is really best for us. The
negative consequences that come from making choices leave behind painful scars
and memories. But God's word directs our thoughts, values, and daily conduct.
It illumines our soul to see God's will for our lives. With the wisdom that
comes from God's word, we are able to do things to benefit not only ourselves
but also those around us.
The Bible is also a map that shows
us the way to heaven. It points us to the Savior; it measures the progress of
our faith; and it keeps us to the correct path so that we would not be lost or
go astray.
God's word is the ultimate
standard of right and wrong. Everyone will be judged on that day according to
God's word. The Lord said, "He who rejects me and does not receive my
sayings has a judge; the word that I have spoken will be his judge on the last
day" (John ).
Therefore, it is important to walk faithfully in the teachings of the Bible and
hold firmly to the words of our Lord.
