Overcoming Frustration

Key question: Has Jesus Christ ever been frustrated in His life?

I.       Examples of Frustration in the Bible

A.     Too heavy a responsibility to be fulfilled (Numbers 11:14-17)

B.     Too many difficulties to be resolved (1 Kings 19:13-18)

C.     Too much against one’s will to be accepted (Jonah 4:1-4)

II.    Ways to Overcome Frustration

A.     Think: Look at the Matter in God’s Way

1.        We are merely vessels (1 Cor 3:6; 1 Peter 3:19,20)

2.        Everything has God’s timing (Ecc 3:1-8;8:6)

3.        Everything works for the good of those who love God

4.        (Romans 8:28; Genesis 50:19-21)

5.        God will make the ultimate judgment (1 Corinthians 4:1-5; Psalm 73:3,15-17)

6.        God will not allow anything to happen beyond our strength (1 Corinthians 10:13)

B.     Talk: With a Spiritual Person (Ecc 4:9-13)

C.     Pray:

1.        For God’s strength to bear the cross

2.        For God’s comfort

3.        For God’s guidance

4.        For God’s wisdom

D.     Trust & Wait: (Psalm 37:4-9)

1.        For God’s timing

2.        For things to clear up

3.        For a suitable moment to resolve
