There are two major reasons God wants to save the world: - God loves the world and desires to have mercy on his creation (Jn 3:16; 1 Jn 4:10, 16; Tit 3:5; Lk 1:78).
- God wants to manifest his glory to those he has mercy on (Rom 9:23).
Motivated by his mercy and love, God gives abundant grace to his creation. The Bible says, “our God and Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting consolation and good hope by grace†(2 Thess 2:16). The Bible says, “I [God] will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whomever I have compassion†(Rom 9:15). God’s merciful salvation comes to us because of the great love with which he loves us (Eph 2:4).
