God—by definition—can have no beginning or end, for He is the Creator of everything under the heavens. God “is,†which is why God literally said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM," or “I am the one who brings into being†(Ex 3:14). God brings creation into being and He brings His church into existence. The Bible tells us God is, was, and is to come (Rev 1:8; 4:8). God never changes, but remains the same forever (Heb 1:12; 13:8). God alone has immortality, that is, He has everlasting life in His hands (1 Tim 6:16). So God is called the “Everlasting Father†(Isa 9:6) and the “eternal God†(Deut 33:27), for God is from everlasting to everlasting (Ps 90:2).
