What happened after Jesus died?

He was buried for three days and then resurrected from the dead (Mt 28:6). By resurrecting from the dead, Jesus fulfilled his own prophecy to his disciples that he would rise on the third day (Mt 16:21; 17:22; Mk 8:31; Lk 9:22; 18:33).
