Above their heads was the throne
of God (v.26)

above the head of the cherubim,
there appeared something like a sapphire stone, having the appearance of the
likeness of a throne (v.1)

In the midst of the throne, and
around the throne were four living creatures (v.6)

in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around

Then the glory of the LORD went

Ezekiel Chapter 2: God sent Ezekiel to His
people

vs. 1-2: Get ready to preach God’s message
1.
God spoke to Ezekiel to stand on his feet
It means ‘Get ready to serve God
and preach God’s message (Acts 26:16)’

Spirit entered into Ezekiel

Set me on my feet

B.
vs .3-10: Principles
of working for God
1.
Ezekiel was sent to a rebellious nation
a.
Knowing the work is dealing with rebellious
people who sin continuous against God (Eze 2:3-5)
b.
Let the chosen people know that God has sent a
prophet to them, for God still loves them (Eze 2:3-5)
2.
Do not be afraid of them (Eze
2:6)
a.
Their rebellious people are described as briers,
thorns, scorpions
b.
Do not be dismay by their words and looks
3.
Speak the word (Eze
2:7)
Whether they accept or not, speak
God’s word
4.
Eating the scroll (Eze
2:8-10)
Hear the Lord and accept God’s
word into our hearts, so to be able to say God’s word

The message is not just for others, but also for
himself

John in Revelation also ate the scroll and
prophesized (Rev 10:8-11)
