Lord of Heaven and Earth
The God that we ought to believe
in is not the invention of our mind. The many gods that human beings worship
are only man-made. We must search and worship the true God because he made us
and provides for our needs, and he is the King and Judge to whom we all will
have to answer to.
The Bible explains to us who the
true God is and how he relates to each of us: "The God who made the world
and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in
temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed
anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else.
From one man he made every nation of men, that they
should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and
the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek
him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each
one of us. 'For in him we live and move and have our being'" (Acts -28 NIV).
Jesus is this only true God. As
the Bible says, "in him all things were created, in heaven and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or
authorities--all things were created through him and for him. He is before all things,
and in him all things hold together" (Colossians -17). Therefore, to worship the Lord of
heaven and earth means to believe and obey the Lord Jesus Christ.
