Jesus was baptized by John in the Jordan River. Jesus was not repenting for His sins, for He was sinless (1 Jn 3:5; 1 Pet 2:22; 2 Cor 5:21). Jesus said He was being baptized to fulfill all righteousness (Mt 3:13, 15), setting an example for sinners to humble themselves and repent (i.e., turn away from evil; see Acts 3:26).
