Jesus told the people the truth (Jn 8:45) and promised abundant life (Jn 10:10), opening up a new and living way for all people (Heb 10:20). Therefore, Jesus tells us he is the way, the truth, and the life. No one goes to the Father except through him (Jn 14:6). This shows the way to the Father (God) is only gained through Jesus. Unfortunately, other religions who feel Jesus is simply one of a line of prophets sent by God have not looked at Jesus’ words carefully. There is no other way! Jesus was not only a teacher, Jesus also gave himself up as a ransom for many (1 Tim 2:6). Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for us opened the way to God for us. We can never be saved apart from Jesus.
