Yes. Jesus’ appearance in the world meant God’s salvation had come. So when Simeon, a devout man who received the Holy Spirit’s revelation of the coming Christ, actually saw baby Jesus come into the temple in Jerusalem, he praised God saying, “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, according to Your word; for my eyes have seen Your salvation†(Lk 2:29–30).
