Jesus is God Himself, the Word of life, who is from the very beginning. The Bible says the Word (Jesus) was with God, and the Word was God (Jn 1:1). The Word became flesh and was born as the man Jesus Christ, who was called the “Son of man†(Mt 16:13). Jesus is God’s beloved Son (Mt 3:17). He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. All things were created by Jesus for Jesus (Col 1:15–17). Jesus is the Savior of humankind, for He was born to the world for that very purpose (Lk 2:11–12).
