Jesus gave us a new and living hope through his resurrection (1 Pet 1:3). Jesus’ resurrection opens the way to revive our spirit, which had been dead in sin, and restore it to life (Col 2:12–13). Jesus’ resurrection also gives life to our mortal bodies in the last days (Rom 8:11, 23; Jn 6:39–40). Jesus is the first fruit (first of its kind) of the resurrected, and God, who raised Jesus from the dead, will also raise us from the dead (2 Cor 4:14). So the Bible says that our seat is in the heavenly places (Eph 2:6). How wonderful a grace God gives to us through Jesus’ resurrection!
